ஒரு சமூகமாக இயற்கைக்கு நெருக்கமாக வாழ்வதற்கான ஒரு முயற்சி.
Our proposal draft for land and community
Basic Philosophy of the Community - Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share
Why we need our own land
This land is to break away from a never ending consumeristic and dehumanizing urban lifestyle. This land is to produce our own food, energy that is renewable, create a sustainable eco-system where we co-exist with the nature. This land is where we utilize limited resource from the nature and practice sustainable living to give back to the nature. This land is to create a community which is inclusive regardless of caste, religion and gender which works towards an equitable society.
Why we need a community
The purpose of the community is to bring the like-minded people to create a livable space in which we would like to live than just exist, to create a zone that would work towards enriching the soil, air, water and us the human beings.
Why we need a common space
This common space is the soul of the community. This common space provides a larger purpose for this community. This space is for keeping alive the ongoing discussions on life issues, practical learning for everyone who chooses alternative living be it in farming, education and health, This space is for everyone who needs desperately help being unable to cope with the needs of a mechanized society. This space is especially for the young people to rest, explore, learn, bring new ideas and create new models for the future society.
Trust for common resource-
50 cents in 3.5 acre (can be more in case of a large acre land at affordable price) will be a common space - which will be registered as trust - which includes the community as core members. (need to discuss how to legally do that)
Land Usage-
For everyone only maximum of 50 cents will be allocated. Wells and bore will be common for all - Common path to access all plots should be defined
Common code-
Community basic common code which reflects the larger objective of the community need to be laid down as foundational principles and accepted by the community.
There need to be an Exit clause Agreement for those who wants to leave the community.
Community decisions will be based only on consensus.
Eco sensitive practices for a self-sustainable living, some examples-
No individual bore is encouraged (common tank can be built for house supply), instead try rain water harvesting- Only natural building- Water harvesting - Gray water treatment- Waste management- Only ecological sensitive activities- No plastic zone- Non-profit entrepreneur activities- activities oriented towards educating and empowering the larger public especially young people.
