Theatre of the oppressed

History

The Theatre of the Oppressed is a participatory form of theatre developed by Brazilian drama theorist, political activist and theatre practitioner Augusto Boal. Originally developed to give poor and disenfranchised communities a more powerful voice, it soon grew into an international theatre movement. Importantly, it is a form of rehearsed theatre for non-actors.

What is Theatre of the Oppressed

The Theatre of the Oppressed is a participatory theatre that fosters democratic and cooperative forms of interaction among participants. It is a ‘rehearsal theatre’ practiced by ‘spect-actors’ (not spectators) who have the opportunity to both act and observe, engendering processes of dialogue and critical thinking.

It is an interactive mode of behaviour which stimulates evaluation and imaginative responses. In the Theatre of the Oppressed, the theatrical act is experienced as a conscious intervention, as a rehearsal for social action rooted in a collective analysis of shared problems.

For What:-

Theatre of the Oppressed is a group of social activists with theatre facilitation skills. These activists are currently working on a range on issues such as: Land Rights, Electoral Politics, Religious and Caste based co-existence, Right to Housing, Right to Education, Labour Rights, Rehabilitation of manual scavengers, and so on. This workshop will help them stimulate their intellect and use theatre in their work practice, which will enhance their outreach and efficiency multi-fold.

What do practitioners get?

Equipping social activists with skills of TO will enhance their ability to examine their own actions in relation with the community that they work with, the structural oppression in which communities are entrenched in and facilitate a creative process of birthing new ideas and actions for change.

As like every art forms practitioners get to understand about their body with that they express themselves, it will bring more insights and deep understanding about our own selves along with this here we will become politically aware.

வரலாறு :-

ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கான நாடக வடிவம் என்பது பிரேசிலிய நாடகக் கோட்பாட்டாளர், அரசியல் ஆர்வலர் மற்றும் நாடக பயிற்சியாளர் அகஸ்டோ போல் என்பவரால் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட பங்கேற்பு வடிவிலான நாடக அமைப்பாகும்.

விளிம்புநிலை மற்றும் உரிமையற்ற சமூக மக்களுக்கு ஆணித்தரமாக குரல் கொடுப்பதற்காக முதலில் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. அது விரைவில் ஒரு சர்வதேச நாடக இயக்கமாக வளர்ந்தது. முக்கியமாக, இது நடிகர்கள் அல்லாதவர்களுக்கான ஒரு ஒத்திகை நாடக வடிவமாகும்.

ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கான நாடக வடிவம் என்றால் என்ன ??

ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கான நாடக வடிவம் என்பது பங்கேற்பாளர்களிடையே ஜனநாயக மற்றும் கூட்டுறவு மனநிலையை வளர்க்கும் ஒரு பங்கேற்பு நாடக கலை வடிவம்.

இது பார்வையாளர்களுக்கு ஒரு 'ஒத்திகை அரங்கம்' ஆகும், இங்கே பார்வையாளர்கள் வெறும் பார்வையாளராக மட்டும் அல்ல எல்லோரும் பங்கேற்பாளர்கள் தான். பார்வையாளர்களும் நாடகத்தை உள்வாங்குவதற்கும் நடிப்பதற்கும் வாய்ப்பு ஏற்படுத்தும். இதன்மூலம் உரையாடல் மற்றும் விமர்சன சிந்தனைகள் உருவாக ஒரு தளமாக அமையும்.

இந்த நாடக வடிவம் மக்களிடைய தங்களை அச்சுழ்நிலையில் பொறுத்திப் பார்த்து அதற்கு ஏற்ற பதில் சிந்தனைகளை சிந்திக்க தூண்டுகிறது.

இதன்மூலம் சமுகத்தின் உள்ளபடியான ஒடுக்குமுறைகளை மனதெளிவுடன் சந்திக்க இது ஒரு ஒத்திகையாக அமைகிறது.

எதற்காக:-

ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கான நாடக வடிவம் என்பது நாடகக் கலையில் மக்களை ஈடுபடுத்தும் திறன் கொண்ட சமூக ஆர்வலர்களின் குழுவாகும்.

இந்த ஆர்வலர்கள் தற்போது நில உரிமைகள், தேர்தல் அரசியல், மதம் மற்றும் ஜாதி அடிப்படையிலான ஏற்றத் தாழ்வு, வீட்டு உரிமை, கல்வி உரிமை, தொழிலாளர் உரிமைகள், கையால் துப்புரவு செய்பவர்களின் மறுவாழ்வு மற்றும் பல பிரச்சனைகளை சார்ந்து இயங்கி கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்.

இந்தப் பட்டறை அவர்களின் அறிவுத்திறனைத் தூண்டுவதற்கும், அவர்களின் நடைமுறை வாழ்விலும், பணிபுரியும் இடத்திலும் தன்னை வெளிபடுத்த நாடகக் கலை உதவும், இது அவர்களின் வெளியுலக தொடர்பு மற்றும் செயல்திறனை பல மடங்கு அதிகரிக்கும்.

பயிற்சியாளர்கள் என்ன பெறுகிறார்கள்?

சமூகம் சீர்படவேண்டும் என்று ஆர்வம் உள்ளவர்கள் நாடக கலையை கற்றுகொள்வதன் திறன்களுடன் ஆயத்தப்படுத்துவது, அவர்கள் பணிபுரியும் சமூகம், சமூகங்கள் வேரூன்றியிருக்கும் கட்டமைப்பு ஒடுக்குமுறை மற்றும் மாற்றத்திற்கான புதிய யோசனைகள், மற்றும் செயல்களை உருவாக்குவதற்கான ஆக்கப்பூர்வமான செயல்முறையை எளிதாக்கும் .

அவர்களின் சொந்த செயல்களை ஆராயும் திறனை மேம்படுத்தும்.

ஒவ்வொரு கலை வடிவ பயிற்சியாளர்களும் தங்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் உங்களின் உடலைப் பற்றி புரிந்துகொள்ளவும் நம்மைப் பற்றிய கூடுதல் நுண்ணறிவுகளையும் ஆழமான புரிதலையும் கொண்டு வரும், மேலும் உங்கள் தனிபபட்ட அரசியல் கருத்துகளை பகிர்ந்துகொள்ள ஒரு வாய்ப்பாக இருக்கும்.
